Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Hoops49 ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our mobile application on Android and iOS.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication via Firebase Authentication.
• Google account name and email — if you sign in with Google Sign-In.

We do not collect passwords directly. Authentication is handled entirely by Google Firebase.

Data You Create in the App

• Favorite players — stored locally on your device. Not uploaded to any server.
• Bet log — your tracked bets are stored locally on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.
• Onboarding preferences — stored locally on your device.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous, aggregated analytics events (e.g. which features are used, paywall interactions) to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.

Purchase Information

If you subscribe to Hoops49 PRO, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple StoreKit (iOS). We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not receive or store your payment card details.

2. Third-Party Services

The app uses third-party services for authentication, crash reporting, analytics, payments, hosting and NBA data. All NBA data requests are routed through our backend; no personally identifiable information is forwarded to any data provider.

• Firebase Authentication, Crashlytics & Analytics (Google) — sign-in, anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage analytics.
• Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit — in-app subscriptions.
• NBA data providers — player profiles, statistics, standings, schedules, injuries, lineups and betting lines.
• Upstash Redis & Fly.io — caching and hosting for our backend. No user-identifiable data is cached.

NBA team logos are bundled with the app as static assets and loaded from local storage — no personal data is transmitted when they are displayed. Player avatars are rendered procedurally from team colors only; the app does not display, transmit, or store any player photographs or likenesses.

3. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the app may notify you on days when your favorited players have games scheduled, and when a tracked bet settles. Notifications are generated on your device. We use Firebase Cloud Messaging only to deliver push notifications you have opted into — never for marketing.

4. Data Retention

• Your Firebase account data is retained until you delete your account.
• Local app data (favorites, bet log, preferences) is stored on your device and removed when you uninstall the app.

5. How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen inside the app. This removes your authentication record from Firebase. Local data is erased when you uninstall the app. To request manual deletion of any data, email support@hoops49.com.

6. Children's Privacy

Hoops49 is not directed at users under 18. We require all users to confirm they are 18 or older before accessing the app. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If you believe a user under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Analytics We Record

Hoops49 records anonymized usage events to understand which features people use and to improve the product, via Firebase Analytics. We record navigation and engagement (page views, compares, player-name searches), premium and subscription events (paywall views, CTA taps, restores), and projection/props/bet-tracking events.

For bet tracking specifically: when you add a bet we record the market type, direction (over/under) and a stake bucket (e.g. "$10–50"). We never record the exact dollar amount you stake. We also record bet settled outcomes (WON/LOST/PUSH/VOID) and aggregate settle-worker counts.

What we don't record: your exact stake amount, any PII beyond the email you provide at sign-up, and your location, phone number, contacts, photos, or device identifiers beyond Firebase's standard analytics ID.

8. Your Rights

You can:

• Request all data we have on you, or its deletion, by emailing support@hoops49.com.
• Opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy → "Help improve Hoops49". When off, no usage events are sent; crash reports stay anonymous.
• Uninstall the app at any time — this clears all locally stored data including your bet log.

We honor GDPR (EU), UK GDPR, CCPA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), LGPD (Brazil), the Privacy Act 1988 (Australia) and PDPA (Singapore) rights. To exercise any right under your local law, email support@hoops49.com with your jurisdiction in the subject line. We respond within the time your applicable law requires, or within 30 days otherwise.

9. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer for value any personal information about you to third parties. The processors above act only as service providers to deliver the app's functionality. No advertising network has access to your data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects any changes. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
